Emory University Woodruff Research Building: Department of Biomedical Informatics
Over a six-month period, Leapley renovated an existing space to create the School of Medicine’s Biomedical Informatics Suite. Leapley expertly incorporated state of the art technology, an engaging workplace design and custom details to create a new space that is dynamic, flexible and collaborative. This modern venue stands out from its structure as a space with a unique sense of identity aligned with the academic purpose to effectively use biomedical data for clinical research, and to support decision making to improve human health. The result is an informal, comfortable atmosphere that balances the use of organic details with industrial art and lighting, natural lighting, bold color choices and purposeful textures. Students feel at home in this energetic space where they can collaborative in open or closed offices, with noises muffled by felt walls.
